Barcelona to receive €15m in three-year deal from Medusa as short sponsor.
UFABET reported on Friday that Barcelona have reached an agreement with United Arab Emirates company Medusa to become the first-team short sponsor on a three-year deal worth €15 million as part of the club’s plan to tackle Financial Fair Play.
The decision to find a shorts sponsor was approve during a board meeting earlier this week, after earlier talks with Medusa had already reached an agreement. The three-year deal worth €15m will see the club earn an additional €5m a year.
The decision to have a sponsor for the shorts was approve during the board meeting earlier this week and now it appears that an agreement has been reach with a company for the same.
Medusa, based in the United Arab Emirates, UFABET is a surface disinfectant company that combines antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral agents. It introduced the first-to-market product to protect surfaces from viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, as well as products that are effective against viruses such as Hepatitis B, HIV and Avian Influenza A, among others.
Barcelona are planning to unveil the new Medusa-branded shorts in their pre-season friendly against Monaco in the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 12 or their season opener against Valencia on August 17.
Given the club’s Fair Play situation, any income is a welcome boost and the agreement with Medusa would help Barcelona take another step closer towards achieving the 1:1 rule.
