Wayne Rooney has admitted he would have liked to have played for Celtic during his playing days after curling a stunning free-kick into the stands against another of his supporters in a legends reunion.

ahead of the game, Rooney was presented. With a Celtic shirt that had been made for him and joked: “I’m not sure if this shirt will fit. “
“Thank you so much for the shirt, it’s really appreciated. I’ll have it on my wall.”
Rooney has also admitted he would have liked to have play. For the Scottish giants during his playing days, adding: “Celtic were a team I always follow and always wanted them to win.
“It’s a shame I didn’t get the chance [to play for Celtic]. I would have loved to have played for Celtic one day. I didn’t have the chance. It didn’t happen. I think those games are always special [against Celtic]. “
All the Celtic fans attend almost every game in the same number. “To go to Celtic ยูฟ่าเบท and experience the atmosphere on a Champions League night is a very special experience. Playing against Celtic is always a special experience.”
Rooney went on to play out the vast majority of his career with United, spending 13 years with the Red Devils.
He left the club in 2017 to rejoin his childhood club Everton where he played one full season before going elsewhere.
He joined American outfit DC United the following year before finishing his playing career with Derby County.
This is not the first time Rooney has spoken out about Celtic, having told the Scottish club in 2013 that he had been following them all the time.
