Virgil van Dijk gives latest update on his uncertain Liverpool future

Virgil van Dijk has admitted that he still has ‘no idea’ how long he has left at Liverpool, as the future of three of the club’s superstars still hangs in the balance.
It has been a stunning season แทงบอล UFABET ราคาดีที่สุด ไม่มีขั้นต่ำ so far for the Reds, sitting top of the Premier League and the Champions League group, with Arne Slot impressing in his first season in charge.
However, there has been considerable uncertainty and confusion off the field regarding the future of three of their biggest stars.
Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all out of contract at the end of the season and the trio could leave on free transfers in just a matter of months.
It is a remarkable situation and would surely be a huge blow for the Reds to see three of the Premier League’s star players all depart without a penny in transfer fees.
There appears to have little progress on achieving clarity, with Van Dijk still saying that he has ‘no idea’ what his future holds, although suggesting that a summer exit is very much a possibility.
On how many more Liverpool games he has ahead of him, the Dutch defender said: ‘I have no idea. How many left this season?
‘Hopefully those are guaranteed and then I don’t know what the future will bring.’
Van Dijk’s appearance against Ipswich on Saturday was his 300th for the club since arriving from Southampton in 2018.
‘Very proud. My family and my kids were here today so it was a special day,’ he said after the 4-1 win at Anfield.
‘I might get a glass of red wine tonight just to celebrate, me and my wife. But that’s it. The focus is then on the next game.
‘There will be a day one day when I reflect on everything that’s happened to me at Liverpool. Then I’ll have a proper think about what stands out. Hopefully there are still good things to come.’
Salah is closing in on 400 appearances for the club and has also not been able to give any positive update on the possibility of him staying at Anfield.
In a club interview last week the 32-year-old said he is aiming to win another Premier League title before the remaining players from the 2020 triumph leave the club.
‘I just always try to give my best whatever, if I win trophies or not, but my motivation this year was really to win a trophy and be part of winning that trophy, especially the Premier League,’ he said.
‘So I still believe the team needs a trophy because almost half of the team that had been here when we won it has left.
‘There is still me, Virgil, Trent, Ali [Becker], Joe [Gomez] and Robbo [Andy Robertson], so it’s five or six players still left [from 2019/20]. So I think it’s necessary to win another trophy before we all go.
‘I think we need another one [title]. We won almost everything, but we won it only once so hopefully we can win it twice. It would be great.’
