Bayern Munich playmaker Jamal Musiala has revealed that Joshua Zirkzee once asked him to join Manchester United.
Zirkzee joined United from Bologna for a fee in the region of £36million in July and scored on his debut against Fulham before moving
to Serie A. The Dutch forward spent eight years at Bayern, rising through the club’s youth system with Musiala and the pair remain close ever since. A
video has gone viral on social media of a Red Devils fan asking Zirkzee, “Can you tell Musiala to come to United?” Zirkzee laughed and replied:
“I tried, I tried.”
It appears that Zirkzee wasn’t lying, as Musiala has now confirmed that the pair had discussed a move to Old Trafford, although it was more like friendly banter.
“You always joke with your mates and dream of playing together in the same team one day,” the 21-year-old told สมัคร ufabet am Sonntag.
“The joke goes both ways. I even told Josh he should come back to Bayern, but you can’t take it too seriously.”
Zirkzee’s Attempt to Bring Musiala to Manchester United
Joshua Zirkzee, who signed for Manchester United from Bologna for a reported fee of £36 million, has openly admitted to trying to persuade Musiala to join him in England. In a viral moment outside Carrington, a fan asked Zirkzee if he could convince Musiala to don the red jersey of Manchester United. With a smile, Zirkzee replied, “I’ve tried. I’ve tried!”
The Dutch striker, who shared a stint with Musiala at Bayern, had recently enjoyed a holiday together in Los Angeles after Euro 2024, sparking even more conversation about their relationship. Zirkzee’s comments, although made in jest, have resonated with United fans, who are eager to see the Bayern starlet make the leap to the Premier League.
